Job Description

Fastenal is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team. As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for supporting business-to-business sales and customer service activities, providing value to customers through a consultative sales approach, and developing new and growing existing relationships from leads, referrals, and prospecting.

Responsibilities:
  • Support business-to-business sales and customer service activities
  • Provide value to customers through a consultative sales approach
  • Develop new and grow existing relationships from leads, referrals, and prospecting
  • Coordinate resources to respond to customer service needs
  • Perform local sales calls driving a company vehicle to customer sites
  • Perform other duties as needed to ensure branch success
Requirements:
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet driving record requirements
  • Possess or working towards a degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, Management, or related field of study
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Strong aptitude for sales and desire to sell
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service-oriented
  • Strong math aptitude, attention to detail, and sense of urgency
  • Strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities
  • Strong problem-solving, deductive reasoning, and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrate core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork
  • Lift, slide, carry, and lower packages that typically weigh 25-50lbs and may weigh up to 75lbs
  • Pass required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam only)
