Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our team at Ascension Providence in Waco, Texas. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, functioning within the scope of your license.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, observing patients for adverse reactions, and performing laboratory tests and therapeutic services.
  • Contribute to the assessment of patients and ensure their well-being.
  • Educate patients and families about disease treatment plans, including self-care post-discharge, holistic health needs, available resources, and follow-up care.
Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration:
    • BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required.
    • Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program permit (GVN) obtained prior to start date or job transfer date required.
    • Temporary or current Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) license to practice in the state of Texas required or must be obtained prior to hire or job transfer date.
  • Education:
    • High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
