This senior management position at the State of Maryland serves as the Deputy Chief Financial Officer for Financial Services within the Office of Budget and Finance.



The ideal candidate will possess an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or certification, with three years of experience working with Financial Management Information System (FMIS) modules (ADPICS and R*STARS), and be proficient with Google software suite.



Job Summary

This is a senior management position assisting the Chief Financial Officer with the management of the state's annual budget, payroll, and financial systems, and complex relationships with State agencies.



Responsibilities


  1. Assists with the planning, directing, and administration of the fiscal operations of the State Department.
  2. Responsible for all accounting operations, including timely payment of all vendor invoices, distribution of funds, and payroll functions.
  3. Leads and directs management, analysis, completion of fiscal year closeout activities and audit responses.
  4. Works directly with the data and financial management systems within the State Department to provide system improvement, data accuracy, and financial automation.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in budget preparation, presentation, and execution, and a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or relevant military experience.
