Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cook to join our Nutrition Services team at St. Croix Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meal Production and Preparation: Determine meal production levels, prepare meals according to recipes and methods, and maintain accurate records of production volumes and temperature readings.
  • Food Orders and Special Diets: Prepare food orders, make meal corrections for patient meal selections on modified diets, and consult with on-site dietitian and manager as needed.
  • Leadership and Training: Demonstrate leadership skills, train other staff members as needed, and maintain thorough knowledge of workflow processes within nutrition services.
  • Point of Sales and Customer Service: Operate the Point of Sales system, charge guests accurately and in a timely manner, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Minor Responsibilities: Perform general cleaning, operate dish machine, manually clean dishes, answer phone calls, and assist with intake and storage of groceries.
Requirements
  • Education and Licensure: High School diploma or equivalent required, ServeSafe Certification required within six (6) months of hire.
  • Experience: At least one year of relevant experience, Healthcare background experience preferred.
  • Competencies: Excellent communication and listening skills, ability to work independently, great customer service, and ability to multi-task and prioritize job duties.
