We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Fraud Operations team at East West Bank. Key Responsibilities- Implement the Fraud Risk Management Program: Develop and execute a comprehensive fraud risk management program that ensures adherence to bank fraud policies and procedures.
- Ensure Fraud Management Controls: Establish and maintain effective fraud management controls and monitoring processes, including key performance indicators, fraud analysis framework, and reporting.
- Assess and Mitigate Fraud Risks: Conduct regular fraud risk assessments and implement prevention and detection processes to minimize fraud losses and scams.
- Lead the Fraud Operations Team: Supervise and develop a team of direct reports, ensuring they are equipped to execute on fraud program initiatives and maintain a high level of expertise in fraud-related matters.
- Develop and Execute on Expanded Support Structure: Collaborate with the team in Asia to develop and execute on expanded support structures to ensure effective fraud program execution.
- Stay Up-to-Date on Industry Best Practices: Continuously research and stay abreast of industry best practices, including identification of new threats and mitigation strategies.
- Partner with BSA Team: Collaborate with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) team to ensure fraudulent/suspicious applications are vetted for fraud activity.
- Oversee Vendor Relationships: Manage vendor relationships to ensure service levels and performance standards are met for all outsourced functions related to fraud.
- Deliver Verbal and Written Briefings: Provide regular, comprehensive reporting to inform key leaders of efforts relating to fraud initiatives.
- Participate in Ongoing Fraud Risk Assessments: Participate in ongoing fraud risk assessments within operational business units to monitor areas of perceived potential risk and assess the materiality of risks.
- Ownership and Maintenance Responsibilities: Maintain ownership and responsibility for all fraud procedures, related documentation, and systems.
- 7+ Years Banking Experience: Required experience in banking, with a focus on retail banking and fraud operations.
- 7+ Years Leading or Influencing People: Preferred experience in leading or influencing people, with a strong track record of developing and executing on strategic initiatives.
- Demonstrated Knowledge/Experience: Demonstrated knowledge and experience in federal/state laws and regulations relating to bank fraud, check and debit card rules, and compliance.
- Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex analyses to senior-level staff.
- Ability to Take Initiative: Ability to take initiative and work independently under tight timelines.
- Fluent in Mandarin/Cantonese: Strong preference for fluency in Mandarin/Cantonese.
The base pay range for this position is USD $200,000.00/Yr. - USD $280,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
