Job Summary:
The IT Asset Manager will work under general supervision to manage the overall lifecycle of Motion IT assets, including hardware and software components. The hardware lifecycle will begin at the point of acquisition and continue through disposal and billing termination, while the software lifecycle will begin at the point of acquisition and continue through monitoring of underused/overused licenses until the software is no longer in use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Update the company's hardware and software inventory with limited supervision.
- Manage IT hardware asset portfolio, including ordering, end of lease returns, billing termination, etc.
- Manage IT software licenses.
- Assist with miscellaneous IT asset procurement needs.
- Interface with Motion's IT vendors to ensure adequate inventory to meet short and long-term equipment needs.
- Evaluate the asset needs and requirements of the organization.
- Track the asset health of company hardware and address IT issues of moderate scope.
- Coordinate the acquisition of appropriate hardware through outside vendors.
Requirements:
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree and three (3) to five (5) years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
- Knowledgeable about a variety of hardware and software systems.
- Experience with asset management in a large organization.
- Communicative and proactive about cultivating relationships with external parties.
- Experience with supply chain management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Business analysis skills to understand the needs of the organization.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Some exposure to basic cybersecurity principles to understand the threats to the organization's assets.
- Self-motivated.
Physical Demands:
- May be required to pack equipment for shipping to leasing companies and branch locations.
