At Travel Nurse Across America, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Operating Room (OR) Nurse to join our team for a high-paying assignment in Boston. As an OR Nurse with our company, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, providing exceptional patient care and collaborating with a talented team of healthcare professionals.

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 per year, based on 8-hour shifts and 40 hours per week. This competitive compensation package includes a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.

Job Description:

We are looking for an OR Nurse with 1-2 years of recent acute care experience as a circulating nurse, scrub nurse, or RN first assistant. In this role, you will assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients, providing pre- and post-surgery care and education to patients, and responding to potential complications alongside physicians.

Some of the key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Providing basic bedside care
  • Preparing, administering, and recording prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment
  • Serving as the communication liaison between patients' family members and members of the operating team
  • Ensuring that the correct procedure(s) is being performed on the correct patient
  • Initiating patient education plan as prescribed by physician; teaching patients and families how to manage medication and home care needs

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A current ACLS and BLS certification
  • 2+ years of experience as a circulating nurse, scrub nurse, or RN first assistant
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
