We are looking for a Certified Cardiovascular Surgical Specialist to join our team, ensuring we deliver high-quality, efficient care to all patients. If you share our commitment to meaningful patient care, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.

Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

As a Surgical Specialist, your role will involve preparing and maintaining the operating room, as well as managing surgical instruments and equipment. You will work in a sterile environment, assisting the surgeon and providing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.

  • Provide patient care within the scope of your training under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Prepare patients, equipment, and the operating room for each surgical procedure.
  • Ensure a clean and safe operating environment for surgical patients.
  • Manage intra-operative procedures and anticipate the surgeon's needs.
  • Assist the circulating nurse in maintaining accurate instrument counts.
  • Oversee supply and equipment management, ensuring availability and proper sterilization.

Qualifications:

Experience

  • Prior experience or training as a Surgical Specialist.
  • Experience with Cardiovascular procedures is preferred.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program or relevant military training.
  • For those not meeting the above criteria: prior employment in Surgical Technology before a specified date or current federal service related to Surgical Technology.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per healthcare policy.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist is required for graduates after a specified date, within a set timeframe.
