Heavy Equipment Operator

This is a full-time position responsible for operating gasoline or diesel-powered crane mounted on specially constructed truck chassis to lift and move materials and objects on drilling sites.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
Key Responsibilities- Starting engine and driving crane to work site, steering crane by moving levers and pressing pedals that control motion of crawler treads.
- Pushing and pulling levers and presses pedals in response to hand signals to rotate crane on chassis and raise and lower crane boom and loadline.
- Operating hydraulic crane and truck to tear down, rig up and/or move drilling rigs.
- Inspecting equipment for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions.
- Lubricating motor and moving parts of crane.
- A high school diploma or equivalent education with one to three (1-3) months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
- Two (2) years of experience operating thirty-five to one hundred twenty hydraulic cranes, and experience tearing down and rigging up drilling rigs.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- English language fluency, verbal and written.
- Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol test.
