Position Summary: The Scaffold Construction Foreman oversees multiple teams responsible for the assembly, reinforcement, and disassembly of pre-fabricated scaffolding systems across various stages of construction projects.

Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Interpreting blueprints and specifications to ascertain the scope of work, including locations, quantities, and dimensions of materials needed.
  • Identifying necessary tools for each task and assessing safety risks along with the measures required to mitigate them.
  • Measuring, marking, and cutting wooden and metallic materials to meet precise specifications.
  • Constructing, reinforcing, and dismantling pre-fabricated scaffolding structures.
  • Building wooden scaffolds and additional auxiliary structures as required.
  • Engaging in various construction projects, which may include constructing decks, steps, bulletin boards, and other wooden installations.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas.
Qualifications:

Qualification Highlights: Candidates must demonstrate the ability to read blueprints, sketches, or building plans effectively. They should possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for the role, meet all physical demands, and adhere to safety regulations. Reliable transportation and possession of required tools are essential.

Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Scaffold Builder in an industrial construction setting.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, plans, and drawings.
  • Familiarity with materials, tools, and processes associated with basic construction techniques.
  • Basic arithmetic skills for operational tasks.
  • Willingness to work a full schedule, including overtime as necessary, while following all safety protocols.
  • Compliance with all company and site regulations.
  • Possession of required tools.
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
  • Current or former employee of Zachry or Zachry ROF.
  • Experience with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
  • NCCER certification for Industrial Journeyman Scaffold Builder.
  • Experience in scaffolding, insulation, and painting.
Reporting to:

This role involves leading and managing multiple teams of foremen, journeymen, and helpers, with crew sizes typically ranging from 5 to 15 workers.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must be capable of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting. Effective communication through verbal and auditory means is necessary. Physical tasks may include:

  • Using arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull various objects and tools.
  • Lifting and moving items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Working at heights, climbing ladders and stairways, and occasionally operating from scaffolding while adhering to fall protection standards.
  • Working in diverse weather conditions, including heat, rain, cold, and wind, while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
