Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Practice Specialist RN to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. This part-time role will play a critical part in ensuring quality clinical practice and professional development at the front-line.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality: Develop and implement education opportunities for staff, support staff in seeking/maintaining specialty certification, and participate in review of unit/division dashboard to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Culture of Safety: Plan, implement, and evaluate division-specific learning activities to improve safety, provide input into staff evaluations, and round on unit to coach and mentor staff.
  • Evidence-based Practice/Research: Identify opportunities to implement EBP projects, including unit/division order sets and practice guidelines, and assist in interpreting research findings.
  • Shared Leadership: Attend unit-based staff meetings, shared leadership meetings, and clinical nurse leadership council meetings.
  • Fiscal Stewardship: Evaluate new products, make recommendations for improvements in clinical efficiency, and manage work schedule efficiently.
  • Annual Competency/Orientation/Retention: Lead content review/revision for unit-based orientation, participate in new employee orientation, and collaborate with unit manager to evaluate progress towards staff completion of education plan.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in nursing education and a passion for quality improvement. You will also need to be able to communicate effectively with staff at all levels and be able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
