Department Summary:

MITRE's Acquisition Strategy and Management (L211) Department provides acquisition, procurement, and contracting Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for the design, solicitation, award, administration, and closeout of MITRE Sponsor mission-critical requirements. Our team delivers unique and mission-critical procurement expertise across six Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs).

Job Description:

We're seeking talented, driven, and proactive acquisition, procurement, and contracting SMEs who are seeking a fulling and challenging career. As a Decision Analyst Lead, you'll champion research and development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and related technologies, support US national security efforts, and cultivate innovation in Federal procurement and acquisition.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert guidance and participate in Source Selections
  • Develop, manage, and control project and program management functions in support of complex procurements
  • Construct actionable Acquisition Artifacts such as Work Statements, Acquisition Plans, and Source Selection plans
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of organizational procurement structures and systems
  • Ability to communicate complex acquisitions-related data both verbally and in writing

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience
  • Experience as a U.S. Government Contracting Officer or Contracting Specialist (FAC-C or DAWIA) or Program Office Procurement Officials (FAC-COR, FAC-P/PM or DAWIA)
  • Working knowledge and experience with US government acquisition, procurement, and contracting processes, policies, and procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree and 10+ years of experience with US government acquisitions across the entire Acquisition Lifecycle
  • Experience as a U.S. Government Contracting Officer or Contracting Specialist (FAC-C Level 2-3, DAWIA Level 2-3) or Program Office Procurement Officials (FAC-COR and FAC-P/PM Level 2-3, DAWIA Level 2-3)
  • Ability to work as an independent performer, as part of a team, and as a team or project lead
