About the Role
As an Urban Agriculture Assistant, you'll be responsible for maintaining our composting sites across the city. This involves collecting household food scraps, processing them at designated facilities, and deploying the finished product for community greening projects.

Duties:
  • Maintain food scrap drop-off locations in underserved areas.
  • Collect and process food scraps by hand at designated facilities.
  • Increase resident participation through outreach efforts.
  • Teach best practices in urban composting operations.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and use basic power tools.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
  • Knowledge of environmental stewardship and sustainable practices.

The estimated annual salary for this position is around $42,000, based on NYC standards.
