Job Title: Masonry Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Mason to join our team at CER-MET INC. As a Masonry Specialist, you will play a crucial role in removing and installing refractory products.

About the Role

The ideal candidate has a proven track record as a skilled Mason with 5+ years of experience in bricklaying, both residential and commercial. You will use a combination of modern power tools and traditional hand tools to perform basic construction tasks, including installing refractory products such as Refractory Plastic, Ram, Brick, Castable, and Gunnite.

You will also be responsible for removal of refractory with chipping hammers and rivet busters, running gunite machinery during installation of refractory materials, and performing stick welding of steel anchors.

Responsibilities
  • Install Refractory products such as Refractory Plastic, Ram, Brick, Castable, and Gunnite
  • Removal of refractory with chipping hammers and rivet busters
  • Use hand tools and power tools to perform basic construction tasks
  • Running gunite machinery during installation of refractory materials.
  • Perform stick welding of steel anchors.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Train apprentices in masonry skills
  • Ability to Travel - Currently position would require some out-of-town travel as some of our customers are Out of State.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • 5 + years of bricklayer experience, residential and commercial
  • 3+ years experience in construction projects.(Industrial construction is helpful) (Refractory knowledge and experience is extremely helpful, but not required).
  • Knowledge of construction methods and technologies, and ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts
  • Knowledge of building forms for masonry work (arches, lintels, ect.)
  • Previous experience as a Mason or in a similar position
  • Ability to adapt to multiple projects simultaneously with a constant eye on quality Certification or training in masonry is preferred
  • Ability to collaborate with other construction professionals
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to adhere to all safety rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of power tools and industrial machinery is preferred
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000-$85,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to competitive pay, we offer flexible scheduling and opportunities for career advancement.
