Job Description

The Sterile Supply Specialist is responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintaining a sterile field during case, and providing the surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Sterile Supply Specialist must be able to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain a high level of productivity while ensuring the quality of patient care.

Responsibilities

Prepare sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure

Maintain a sterile field during case

Provide sterile supplies and instruments to the surgeon during assigned procedures

Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014

Graduate of an ORT training program or on-the-job training with a minimum of 3 years of experience (surgical setting preferred)

Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties (e.g., GYN, General, and Plastics)

Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (e.g., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro)

Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current

Estimated Salary

$45,000 - $65,000 per year (depending on location and experience)
