Position Overview:

The Financial Planning Analyst plays a crucial role in assisting the Budget Director with the formulation of the yearly financial plan. This position involves contributing to the training initiatives for budget supervisors and ensuring that all financial plans are adequately funded. The analyst will supervise all student and organizational budgets, providing support and guidance as necessary. Additionally, this role includes aiding the Budget Director in managing the institution's financial framework within the Workday system, overseeing adjunct budgets and contracts, and coordinating the preparation of summer adjunct contracts. The analyst will also be responsible for generating various mandatory reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary liaison for the budget office, offering departments guidance on their financial plans, Workday functionalities, and related inquiries.
  • Assist in the creation of the annual financial plan.
  • Track all notifications regarding insufficient funds and coordinate follow-ups with the relevant departments.
  • Supervise all club, trust, and agency accounts, aiding them in budget monitoring.
  • Manage various expense tracking and allocations, including adjunct tracking and summer instruction.
  • Authorize part-time and temporary staffing as part of budget oversight and process budget transfers.
  • Compile the Budget Data Book and distribute it to necessary stakeholders.
  • Prepare the Annual Tuition and Fee Survey, Administrative Salary Survey, and other state-required reports.
  • Compile, assess, and report on the financial survey for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
  • Maintain the Budget Office website.
  • Oversee the budget request submission process, ensuring proper formatting and distribution to the executive team.
  • Evaluate all software system upgrades and conduct necessary testing.
  • Review payroll transactions and reports to ensure accurate payment and accounting of salaries and benefits.
  • Demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline, with proven experience in budgeting and forecasting, preferably in the higher education sector.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to treating others with respect, civility, and courtesy, and to working collaboratively with employees, students, and the community. This includes employing appropriate conflict management skills to address disagreements or escalating issues to management when necessary.

Compensation:
