About the Role:

The Christman Company is seeking a skilled Project Engineer to support our construction projects in the Raleigh, NC region. As a key member of our project team, you will assist the Project Manager and Project Superintendent with daily site functions, including RFI and submittal processing, daily reports, material procurement, and project safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce and organize project documents consistent with Christman standards and risk management standards.
  • Prepare project documents for close-out, turnover, and archiving to ensure efficient final compilation and delivery.
  • Plan, communicate, and process close-out documents of all subcontracts as work concludes.
  • Accurately summarize important discussions, questions, and decisions raised during project team meetings, owner meetings, and weekly subcontractor meetings.
  • Partner with clients and architects to establish punch-list contents and utilize current technology to expedite the punch list process.
  • Assist the Project Manager with identifying necessary inspections and create project-specific inspection logs according to Christman standards.
  • Provide information on procurement, material tracking, and inspections to the Project Superintendent.
  • Manage the RFI process and ensure timely information flow to all parties.
  • Organize and prioritize submittal requirements specified in contract documents and review for completeness.
  • Support the Project Superintendent by monitoring quality of work and compliance with construction documents.
  • Assist with daily reports and the management of all progress and quality photos.
  • Post required safety information and signage to inform workers and site visitors about site hazards and confirm appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn.
  • Model safety awareness and planning at all times while observing safety practices and reporting concerns to the Project Superintendent or Project Manager.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum one (1) year of construction industry experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to interact with and develop effective working relationships with a wide range of people.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and plan, schedule, and organize tasks while completing work within established deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral skills, basic computer knowledge of Microsoft 365, and a passion for team-based planning and problem-solving.
