Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Deterrent Services: Observe and report any suspicious activity or potential security threats within your span of control.
  • Escort and Support: Provide designated escort activities for patrons and employees, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Monitor and Report: Observe and report any violations of regulatory, internal control, or company-sponsored policies and procedures.
  • Documentation and Communication: Provide written documentation of incidents and events, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Assume a leadership role in employee and guest relations, and collaborate with internal and external departments to ensure a seamless and secure experience.
  • Patrol and Surveillance: Remain alert to potential security issues and conduct continuous patrol activities to maintain a secure environment.
  • Assist Law Enforcement: Assist law enforcement agencies as requested, including assisting with arrest and detention functions.
  • Accident and Incident Reporting: Complete accurate and detailed reports of accidents and incidents, and maintain compliance with regulatory and company policies.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), six months or more related security type experience and training, or a combination of education and security experience/training.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, directions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write reports, fill out forms, and statements in detail and clarity.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense in the carrying out of instructions and directions, and deal with problems involving variables or standard situations.
Personal Competencies
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to patrons and employees, ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with internal and external departments to ensure a seamless and secure experience.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including patrons, employees, and law enforcement agencies.
Certifications and Licenses
  • Indiana Horse Racing Commission License: Must be able to obtain and maintain a license from the Indiana Horse Racing Commission.
  • First Aid Training: Must be able to pass certification in First Aid Training and any other certification required for the position.
