Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rheumatology Medical Doctor to join our team at Ascension Health. As a Rheumatology Specialist, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients with various rheumatic conditions, providing medical diagnostic and treatment skills, and working to improve the quality of care provided to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
  • Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
  • Accept patient referrals from other physicians and act as admitting, attending, and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses.
  • Participate in academic programs, such as medical education and research, as requested.
  • Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements and appeal all denials in a timely manner.
  • Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on-call schedules.
Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration:
    • One or more of the following required:
      • Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
      • Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
  • Education:
    • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Optometry (OD) or Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) required.
