Job Title: Facilities Systems Technician

Reporting to the Facilities Systems Supervisor, this position is a critical member of a 24/7 Delta Center Operation responsible for monitoring and responding to computer systems. The successful candidate will cross-train with Medical Center Dispatch and be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Knowledge of critical safety and security systems, including fire exit door alarm systems, incoming fire alarms, elevator alarms, multi-frequency two-way radio system, and general telephone lines.
  • Operate equipment to receive, process, and disseminate incoming alarms and general information calls.
  • Receive and evaluate incoming requests for public safety assistance and route requests and/or disseminate information to the appropriate field unit(s) as required.
  • Use discretion in determining severity of situation and appropriate response.
  • Utilize problem-solving and troubleshooting skills resulting in effective resolution.
  • Report all hazardous situations, accidents, incidents, and injuries immediately to leadership.
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of customers in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
  • Prepare and maintain daily activity and emergency event logs.
  • Adhere to and enforce all departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
  • Work cooperatively with superiors and other employees.
  • Remain alert and maintain real-time situational awareness.
  • Demonstrate professional integrity and accountability in all transactions.
  • Perform daily tests on systems and alarms to ensure proper function and back-up capability is working properly.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment.
  • Participate in the set-up of new facilities and equipment.
  • Complete end-of-shift reports and make preparations for upcoming shifts.
  • Complete all required work documentation accurately and submit on-time.
Requirements:
  • No supervisory responsibilities.
  • Ability to work in a high-stress, quick-response environment.
  • Ability to stand or walk with objects up to 25lbs and sit at a computer workstation for extended periods.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
