Job Summary

Carroll Community College is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach continuing education students in Home Inspection training. The instructor will focus on basic residential construction standards and processes, home inspection processes, and inspection techniques. The course will cover topics such as defect recognition in structural, exterior, interior, roofing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other areas. The goal of the course is to prepare students for the Home Inspector licensing exam in Maryland.

Responsibilities
  • Teach Home Inspection training courses to continuing education students
  • Develop and implement lesson plans to meet the needs of students
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback
  • Stay current with industry developments and best practices
Requirements
  • Minimum of five years of experience in the Home Inspection trade
  • Industry certification in Home Inspection
  • Strong communication, presentation, and critical thinking skills
  • Teaching experience and additional relevant industry certifications preferred
Work Environment

The instructor will work on campus, interacting with diverse students, staff, faculty, and the general public in classrooms, common areas, offices, and campus environments. The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office, meeting, and training rooms.
