Job Summary

The Production Inspector will work from blueprints, engineering change notices, or established operating procedures to perform a wide range of complex inspection procedures and determine acceptance, rejection, or rework requirements at various stages of production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-process inspections and/or complete the final verification of end-item products.
  • Perform inspection of manufacturing goods during the manufacturing process.
  • Conduct dimensional and electrical inspection of sub-assemblies or final systems assemblies.
  • Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
  • Interpret prints, manufacturing drawings, diagrams, wire cards, and lists in approving or rejecting in-process or final assemblies.
  • May perform in-process inspections of rework items.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrates familiarity (typically 1-2 years of Production experience in the essential functions of the position).
  • Basic computer skills, including email.
  • Basic ERP skills.
  • Basic Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to obtain J-Std and IPC certifications.
  • May require flight critical certification.
Work Environment

This position is primarily located in a manufacturing environment with moderate to significant noise and interruptions.

The performance of work duties will require employees to be aware of possible hazards and safety precautions to maintain a safe work environment, including but not limited to the following:

  • Wear company-provided PPE.
  • Ensure PPE is in good working order.
  • Notify manager/supervisor/EHSM of PPE needs.
  • Avoid using any equipment that you have not been trained on.
  • Avoid going into High Voltage areas without an authorized person present.
  • Report safety hazards to manager/supervisor/EHSM.
  • Report any "Near Misses" to your manager and/or the EHS Manager.
Eligibility Requirements

As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible.

An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment background screen and drug test which includes screening for the use of cannabis.

Salary is $27.22 per hour.
