Job Summary

As a Nurse Manager at CHI St Vincent Infirmary, you will oversee a department of frontline nurses and serve as a liaison between these caregivers and leadership teams. Your primary responsibility will be to communicate the organization's goals to the nursing staff, ensuring they are aligned with the organization's mission to improve patient experiences, reach out to the community, and deliver quality care.

To succeed in this role, you must be a competent and confident leader who can utilize excellent communication skills to tackle tough conversations and educate others. CHI St Vincent Infirmary is a 600-bed faith-based, non-profit, acute care facility providing quality healthcare to patients and communities from across the State of Arkansas. Our level II trauma center is a regional referral center for cardiology, trauma, behavioral health, cancer care, neurosciences, and other specialties. Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee a department of nurses, ensuring everyone has the necessary resources to deliver exceptional patient care.
  2. Engage with the floor, talking to nurses, patients, and families to stay informed and ensure a smooth operation.
  3. Attend meetings with leadership to stay updated on new initiatives, budgetary status, and areas for improvement, and share this information with your team.
  4. Monitor attendance among nursing staff, addressing any patterns of missed shifts.
  5. Monitor productivity and efficiency of your department, including budgets, to achieve optimal throughput without compromising care.
  6. Mentor team members, sharing your knowledge and confidence with assistant nurse managers, charge nurses, and others, and help build them into potential nurse managers.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.
  2. Registered Nurse License in good standing (State of Arkansas, or compact state, prior to hire).
  3. At least 5 years of nursing experience, in an acute care setting.
  4. Cardiac ICU experience is strongly preferred.
  5. 3-5 years of clinical leadership experience is preferred.
