As a Clinical Unit Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and leading a team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management
- Supervise and lead a team of RNs and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless delivery of patient care.
- Develop and implement unit-specific policies and procedures to promote a culture of excellence and patient safety.
- Collaborate with the Nurse Manager and other stakeholders to achieve unit and hospital goals.
- Patient Care
- Provide direct patient care as needed, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and services.
- Staff Development and Education
- Develop and implement educational programs to enhance staff knowledge and skills.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to staff members to promote professional growth and development.
- Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to develop and implement unit-specific competency programs.
- Quality and Performance Improvement
- Participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Nurse Manager and other stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements.
- Monitor and report on unit-specific metrics and performance indicators.
- Education
- Bachelor of Sciences degree in nursing (individuals hired without a BSN will be required to complete a degree program within 5 years of their hire date).
- Qualifications/Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in Medical/Surgical/Telemetry nursing with regard to regulatory guidelines and standard of practice; minimum one (1) year of Clinical Unit Supervisor experience.
- Current California Nursing license.
- Certification in Medical/Surgical Nursing preferred.
- Basic EKG Competence.
- Special Skills/Knowledge
- Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish).
- Basic computer skills.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record preferred.
