Job Title: Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team at CDM Smith. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for various projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical systems for projects, including power systems, protection and generation models, facility power systems, and sustainability/renewable energy systems.
  • Perform studies of power systems and electrical calculations for electrical systems, lighting simulations, lighting layouts, communications, fire alarm, security, and other similar calculations.
  • Assist with the selection and specification of electrical components, including motor control centers, switchgears, transformers, and other equipment.
  • Review draft designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and ensure that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
  • Perform site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications and update design requirements as necessary.
  • Contribute to the firm's technical knowledge management (TKM) by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc.
  • Submit technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals and perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or Electrical Technology or related discipline.
  • 0 years of experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
