As a key member of the Hall County team, the Building Maintenance Technician II/CO will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of County buildings. This role involves supervising inmate work details to complete skilled carpentry, electrical, air conditioning, plumbing, and painting-related work.
Key Responsibilities- Landscape Maintenance: Oversee inmate crews to complete tasks such as mowing, edging, leaf collection, and other landscaping duties.
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform tasks including but not limited to: HVAC system checks, electrical work, plumbing checks, and seasonal tasks like gutter cleaning and roof inspections.
- Routine Maintenance and Repair: Complete tasks such as plumbing repairs, electrical work, carpentry, painting, and concrete work.
- Facilities Management: Ensure all buildings are maintained properly, including repairs, replacements, and upgrades.
- Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED, three years of carpentry and building maintenance experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Licenses and Certifications: Current P.O.S.T. Certification, valid Class C Driver's License, and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of HVAC operations, building maintenance, construction, equipment, and materials; ability to read and interpret building plans, specifications, and blueprints; and mechanical aptitude.
The Building Maintenance Technician II/CO will work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to adverse environmental conditions, including inclement weather, extreme temperatures, and hazardous materials. The incumbent must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with regular attendance and adherence to safety protocols.
