Part Time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

CommuniCare Rehab, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, has a Part Time position available for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) at Grande Lake Healthcare Center.

Our therapists are in-house and members of the CommuniCare family.

Responsibilities:

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant is responsible for:

  • Verifying client information by interviewing the client, reviewing and/or recording medical history, and confirming the purpose of treatment.
  • Helping clients improve their quality of life by compensating for limitations, such as improving motor skills and re-entering the labor force, and teaching persons with learning disabilities to prepare meals or use public transportation and increase independence.
  • Implementing treatment plans through direct treatment and collaboration with Occupational Therapists, education of treatment staff, and other members of the team involved in the treatment plan.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Be a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with an education obtained in an accredited two-year associate degree program.
  • Agree to abide by the NBCOT Practice Standards/Code of Conduct.
  • Attain a passing score on the NBCOT certification exam and national licensure examination.
  • Hold a current state license/certification.
  • Have competency in therapy treatment principles, techniques, materials, and equipment utilization.
  • Have knowledge of state and federal accreditation.
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have good organizational skills.
  • Be able to travel as necessary.
