About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Wound Ostomy Nurse to join our team at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center. As a key member of our Inpatient Wound Care team, you will provide expert care to patients with complex wounds and ostomies, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive wound and ostomy care to patients, including assessment, treatment, and education.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Conduct wound and ostomy assessments, including wound measurements, tissue analysis, and ostomy care planning.
  • Develop and implement wound and ostomy care protocols, ensuring compliance with evidence-based guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers on wound and ostomy care, including ostomy management, wound dressing changes, and wound healing techniques.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Coursework/Training: Graduate of a WOCN accredited Enterostomal therapy program within 18 months of hire.
  • California Registered Nurse License.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
  • Wound Care Certification within 1 year of hire.
  • 3 years of experience as an RN in a healthcare setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Nursing.
  • WOCN certified upon hire.
  • Teaching experience.
