Job Description

This position will provide computing expertise to MBO users and collaborators while deepening the candidate's experience in computational research and software engineering in an academic research environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Improve, adapt, and extend existing data acquisition and processing pipelines;
  • Develop efficient data analysis pipelines;
  • Maintain streamlined data analysis and storage pipelines;
  • Stay up-to-date on open-source software and explore integration into current workflow;
  • Generate SOPs and train new MBO users and collaborators;
  • Maintain storage and data-processing servers;

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess strong quantitative/math skills and excellent programming experience in Python, MATLAB, C/C++, Java or similar. A Master's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, Physics, or a related discipline with a strong emphasis on scientific computing is required.

Preferred Qualifications

A Ph.D. is highly desired, as well as prior experience with Ca++ imaging, large-scale 2p/3p microscopy datasets, and familiarity with optics, microscopy, custom instrumentation, CAD modeling, electronics, robotics, and FPGA programming.

Salary

The salary for this role is estimated to be between $100,000 and $120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
