Role Responsibilities:

The Senior Media Planner is tasked with the development, execution, and optimization of media strategies that align with client marketing goals. This position requires conducting market analysis, interpreting audience data, and selecting the most effective media channels to engage target demographics. The Senior Media Planner collaborates with creative teams, account managers, and external partners to ensure seamless campaign execution and achievement of performance metrics. Additionally, this role involves monitoring campaign outcomes, making data-informed adjustments, and providing strategic insights for future initiatives. Essential skills include strong analytical capabilities, media industry expertise, and experience in media planning and buying. Leadership and mentorship of junior planners are also key components of this position.

  • Work with the media team to analyze data and create effective media strategies focused on target demographics.
  • Leverage media research tools (such as MRI, Vivvix, GWI) and audience insights to identify optimal media mixes and strategies.
  • Assist in budget formulation and the establishment of media objectives.
  • Develop and present media strategies and tactical plans for review and approval.
  • Oversee the implementation of media plans, including reporting, optimizations, and vendor management.
  • Utilize media research, audience insights, and data analytics to determine the best media mix.
  • Manage media authorizations, budget oversight, and invoice reconciliation.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and engage in vendor meetings and new business initiatives.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members, fostering their growth and skill development.
  • Conduct competitive analysis, contribute to agency perspectives, and participate in performance assessments and candidate interviews.
  • Engage in agency and departmental training sessions to remain informed and innovative.
  • Collect, organize, and present competitive research and expenditure data.
  • Oversee media reporting and key insights/optimizations to enhance media effectiveness and achieve client objectives.
  • Participate in media vendor meetings, presentations, and events to explore new opportunities and represent the media team.
  • Inspire Planners/Coordinators and promote innovation and creativity across all projects by serving as a role model.
  • Contribute to performance evaluations of direct reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or a related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in media planning required.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Proficient mathematical skills are required.
  • Aptitude for effectively presenting information in one-on-one and small group settings to clients and colleagues.
  • Experience with agency accounting systems and/or media planning and research software, including MS Office programs.
