Dewberry is seeking a full-time Lead Civil Engineering Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is essential for delivering comprehensive consulting services to a diverse clientele.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be instrumental in guiding projects from initial concept through to successful completion. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting quality control reviews for engineering designs.
- Leading project engineering and design efforts.
- Representing the firm in discussions with municipal, state, and federal agencies.
- Overseeing the design of various infrastructure projects, including streets, parking lots, and utility systems.
- Preparing detailed engineering plans, calculations, and reports.
- Assisting in the development and management of project budgets and timelines.
- Providing mentorship and training to junior engineers.
Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in site/civil design and construction.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in the State of Maryland; licensure in Washington, DC and Delaware is preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong skills in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software.
- Exceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with clients and agencies.

The candidate should have a robust understanding of project work within the energy infrastructure, industrial, institutional, healthcare, and commercial sectors, particularly in the mid-Atlantic region.
