Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Specimen Technician to join our team at Synectics Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing general support functions within the Specimen Processing Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of tasks to support the Specimen Processing Department, including A-station, pre-sort, pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory, imaging/microfilming, centrifugation and aliquoting.
  • Work in a fast-paced production environment with an emphasis on productivity and quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of staff to ensure seamless operations.
  • Adhere to core values, safety and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Keep work area neat and clean.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of computers with a preferred knowledge of laboratory testing and/or laboratory specimen processing.
  • Previous laboratory experience preferred.
  • Medical background preferred which includes medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory.
  • Ability to stand, lift, and move the majority of the shift.
  • Able to sit or stand for long periods.
  • Data entry skills with the ability to enter 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes/hour.
Work Environment

The Specimen Technician will work in a biohazard environment, practicing good safety habits. The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Shift/Time Zone: Evening shift 4p.m. to 12:30a.m. CST
