Paramedic Firefighter Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Paramedic Firefighter to join our team at the City of Benicia, CA. As a Paramedic Firefighter, you will be responsible for providing advanced life support, emergency medical services, and engaging in firefighting, rescue, and suppression activities to protect life and property.

• Perform advanced life support and emergency medical services
• Engage in firefighting, rescue, and suppression activities
• Drive, operate, and maintain all fire department apparatus and equipment
• Conduct, assist, and participate in training programs
• Participate in inspections and related fire prevention activities
• Provide public education and related work as required

• Graduation from a paramedic training program that meets the requirements for licensing in the State of California
• Accreditation by the County of Solano within six months of appointment
• Valid California Driver's License at time of appointment
• Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) by date of appointment
• Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for BLS provider by date of appointment
• Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP) by date of appointment
• Certification in Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS) or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) by date of appointment

• Experience as a Paramedic in an active, progressive paramedic program accompanied by experience as a firefighter in an active progressive firefighting organization
