Overview

Engage with a vibrant and collaborative team dedicated to enhancing online education experiences.

The Teaching Learning Center (TLC) collaborates with multiple departments to facilitate effective online learning. This includes instructor certification, course accessibility, and providing assistance with D2L-related inquiries.

As a work-study student, you will contribute to the daily operations of the TLC, focusing on D2L troubleshooting and various departmental tasks.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, your tasks will include:
- Front desk management and customer service
- Offering Tier I technical assistance
- Data entry tasks
- Assisting in video production
- Editing video captions
- Creating instructional materials using Microsoft Office 365 and 2019
- Completing additional assignments as needed

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be dependable and punctual, with a strong interest in working within a professional setting that values respect and teamwork. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is advantageous, and additional training will be provided. Candidates with aspirations in business management, educational technology, or higher education operations will find this position particularly beneficial.

The TLC is committed to developing the skills of its work-study students through a variety of projects. Participants will acquire essential skills for a professional office environment, including:
- Proficiency in basic office technology (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite)
- Effective email and telephone communication
- Tier I technology troubleshooting abilities
- Video editing skills
- Customer service expertise
- Data entry proficiency

Additional Information

This position is suitable for students pursuing degrees in business administration (management, marketing, customer service certification), communication, computer information science, information technology, computer technology certification, data analytics certification, psychology, or sociology. You will gain insights into office management, task organization, and customer interaction. Students interested in a career in higher education will also find this role advantageous.
