Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and caring Server to join our team at Town Village Vestavia Hills. As a Server, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional dining experiences for our senior residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and follow written and oral directions to ensure efficient meal service.
  • Communicate and relate to community residents in a courteous and diplomatic manner.
  • Assist in set-ups and dining room service to create a pleasant and efficient dining experience.
  • Take orders and serve food in an appropriate fashion, ensuring resident satisfaction.
  • Set-up and deliver trays upon request of the chef/cook, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Bus tables and trays in the dining room and other areas as necessary, adhering to infection control procedures.
  • Pour and cover beverages, assist in preparing, and covering food, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist in proper care and use of kitchen and dining room equipment, adhering to facility safety protocols.
  • Clean all work areas as directed, maintaining a neat and clean appearance.
  • Work at a steady pace to meet demands of cooks and residents, demonstrating dependability and teamwork.
  • Act as liaison between residents and food service department, ensuring resident needs are met.
  • Understand and observe infection control procedures related to food service department, maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Follow residents' rights policies at all times, respecting resident autonomy and dignity.
  • Follow facility safety program, adhering to protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain neat, clean appearance, and follow appropriate dress code as directed by chef/cook.
  • Work scheduled shifts and demonstrate dependability, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED at a minimum.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to communicate by speaking, seeing, and hearing sufficient to serve residents.
  • Professional and neat appearance and presentation, adherence to dress code, and good personal hygiene are expected.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to work with various levels of people, associates, and residents.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to relate to residents and associates in a courteous and diplomatic manner under all circumstances.
  • Completion of drug testing and criminal record background check upon hire and upon request of supervisor.
  • Physical requirements include bending, standing, lifting, stooping, sitting, walking, stretching, and ability to lift/carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Adhere to and carry out all policies and procedures.
