We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Commercial/Ag Loan Officer to join our team at GPAC. As a Junior Commercial/Ag Loan Officer, you will work closely with established lenders to learn the industry, market area, and rules and regulations. You will be responsible for analyzing credit history, determining loan repayment capabilities, and negotiating credit terms.
Key Responsibilities- Acquire, expand, and retain commercial relationships through proactive calling strategies.
- Cross-sell ancillary products and services of the bank.
- Analyze credit history and determine loan repayment capabilities.
- Negotiate credit terms, including costs, loan repayment methods, and collateral specifications.
- Develop and maintain interest rate structures consistent with financial institution policies and procedures.
- Evaluate potential customer loan requests and make loan recommendations to management.
- Review, approve, and dispose of commercial overdrafts.
- Stay up-to-date on new laws and regulations influencing business lending and make recommendations to management when necessary.
- Provide assistance and recommend training for new commercial loan officers.
- Develop new customer prospects and business.
- Represent the bank in the local community through active participation in community affairs.
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting.
- Strong preference for candidates with experience in the banking industry.
