Position Overview

The Parking Enforcement Specialist is responsible for upholding all parking regulations and ordinances within the designated areas. This role involves monitoring parking compliance, issuing citations for violations, and ensuring the smooth operation of parking facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enforce parking rules and regulations as directed.
  • Issue tickets for various parking violations, including but not limited to resident parking, street cleaning, and snow removal ordinances.
  • Conduct foot patrols in assigned areas to monitor parking compliance.
  • Prepare detailed reports related to enforcement activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficient in reading and writing in English.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret parking regulations and ordinances.
  • Capable of walking significant distances daily and passing a physical examination.
  • Must hold a valid Class D driver's license.
  • Access to a vehicle during work hours is required.
  • Experience in bilingual and/or multicultural environments is advantageous.

Work Environment

This position requires physical stamina and mental acuity. Employees must be able to stand, reach, twist, turn, kneel, bend, squat, and stoop as part of their daily responsibilities. The role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions and may expose employees to environmental factors such as dust and fumes. Lifting, pushing, and dragging equipment weighing up to 25 pounds is necessary.

Skills Required

Employees must demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and possess the ability to analyze and resolve issues effectively. The role requires the capacity to work under pressure, manage interruptions, and interact with the public, including addressing concerns from dissatisfied individuals.

Visual and Motor Skills

Visual demands include the ability to read documents for comprehension and analytical purposes. Motor skills necessary for this position involve using mathematical reasoning and interpreting data accurately.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with a schedule from Tuesday to Saturday, 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
