Evening Facilities Attendant

Position Overview
The Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis is in search of a dedicated evening facilities attendant to maintain cleanliness and order within our premises during the hours of 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend availability for on-call duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrive punctually and be prepared to work for all scheduled shifts.
- Maintain the cleanliness of facilities in accordance with local health regulations and organizational standards.
- Identify maintenance needs and report them to the Facilities Manager.
- Assist in the upkeep and functionality of various systems, including plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems.
- Utilize cleaning supplies and equipment safely and in compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Support major renovation and improvement projects in collaboration with the Facilities Manager.
- Complete tasks assigned by the Facilities Manager related to routine and special maintenance schedules.
- Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, and surfaces to ensure a welcoming environment.
- Vacuum, clean, and polish floors as necessary.
- Employ appropriate cleaning agents for various areas including restrooms, kitchens, and meeting spaces.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts.
- Clear snow and ice from walkways and parking areas as required.
- Perform minor repairs and replacements as directed.
- Secure and unlock facilities as per the established schedule.
- Receive and direct deliveries of maintenance supplies.
- Assist in moving and setting up furniture and equipment as needed.
- Oversee contractors performing tasks as assigned by supervisory staff.
- Respond promptly to spills and other cleanliness issues.
- Adhere to enhanced cleaning protocols as necessary.
- Engage in ongoing training as mandated by state and federal guidelines.
- Document completed tasks as requested by the Facilities Manager.
- Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with other team members to foster a positive environment.
- Work alongside volunteers to support community initiatives on the premises.
- Report any significant concerns to supervisory staff immediately.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience in maintenance or custodial roles is preferred. Training on Blood Borne Pathogens will be provided on the job. A boiler license is advantageous.
