Position Summary:

The Supply Chain Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient operations across multiple facilities by overseeing vendor relationships and inventory management systems. This position involves utilizing demand forecasts to establish, track, and maintain purchase orders, ensuring the timely procurement of packaging materials and ingredients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage vendor partnerships, addressing performance issues and fostering successful collaborations.
  • Identify and source new co-packing partners.
  • Negotiate vendor contracts and purchase orders, ensuring all necessary documentation is reviewed prior to procurement.
  • Maintain project files and cost-saving records, ensuring adherence to internal and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare analytical reports and presentations for forecasting, performance metrics, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Facilitate communication between production facilities and co-packers to ensure the flow of relevant information.
  • Lead or participate in internal and external meetings and conference calls.
  • Work collaboratively across departments to resolve vendor-related issues.
  • Update co-packing cost data on a monthly basis.
  • Issue meat cost information to co-packers and internal stakeholders.
  • Place purchase orders as required for co-packing operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols.
  • Provide support to administrative functions or other planners during absences.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive understanding of supply chain and logistics processes within a manufacturing context.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate data and make informed decisions.
  • Experience in demand forecasting and production scheduling.
  • Excellent organizational, negotiation, and data management skills.
  • Aptitude for identifying challenges and developing effective solutions.
  • Project management experience with the ability to oversee multiple processes to successful completion.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and circumstances.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Inventory Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a material planning role or a similar position.

Work Environment:

  • Combination of office and plant environments, with potential exposure to varying conditions.
  • Office work involves the use of telephones, computers, and printers.
  • Physical demands may include standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods, with occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.

Travel may be required up to 30% of the time.
