Job Summary

The primary function of the Service Technician is to perform high-quality repairs to customer equipment, making recommendations for further services as determined by the Technician during the servicing process.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive repair order assignments from the Shop Foreman.
  • Perform work directed in the repair order in a timely and thorough manner, maintaining a superior standard of workmanship in all services performed.
  • Advise the Shop Foreman of any recommended changes in services ordered by the customer.
  • Determine if any further repairs or servicing should be recommended to the customer, and communicate such recommendations to the Shop Foreman.
  • Maintain a level of training and experience with specialized equipment, machinery, and servicing techniques necessary for superior servicing of the customer's equipment.
  • Perform additional repairs required when any piece of equipment is returned by the customer due to the Technician's faulty workmanship.
  • Maintain accurate work order records of work performed and time clocked on the job.

Qualifications

  • Manual dexterity
  • Good judgment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • Working knowledge of truck repair and maintenance
  • 3+ years of medium to heavy duty truck chassis and engine experience required
  • Ability to operate power and hand tools and other equipment safely
  • Working knowledge of P/C and Laptop Computers

  • Paccar MX

Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding position. You will stand for six to eight hours per shift, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle, and feel. You will lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds, use hand and power tools, hoist, and test equipment. You will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, paint, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.
