Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Nurse to join our team at Rady Children's Hospital. As a member of our team, you will provide specialized nursing care to post-operative cardiac surgical, cardiology, complex congenital, acquired heart disease, heart transplantation, VAD, and ECMO patients.
Responsibilities:- Provide 1:1-2 patient care to patients ranging from neonates to 23 years old in a 30-37 bed unit.
- Participate in a self-scheduling system, working on 3x12 hour shifts.
- Fulfill weekend requirements, working 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule with specific nights/days depending on shift type.
- Work on a unit that does not include OR, PACU, and ED, but may include floating to units such as PICU, NICU, medical, surgical, hematology/oncology, medical behavioral unit, and, on rare occasions, other centers within the facility.
- Maintain compliance with hospital requirements, including administering required certifications and licensing.
- Meet the expectation of working 2 out of 3 major holidays, adhering to the contract schedule requirements.
- Complete non-billable modules prior to assignment commencement for essential training.
- Reimbursement for mileage when floating to locations other than the assigned home base, with conditions.
- 2+ years of CVPICU/CTICU experience, pediatric cardiac experience required.
- California RN license required, either in hand or pending with estimated posting date.
- BLS, PALS certifications required.
- Must-Have: Pediatric Cardiac experience, Cardiac training, Heart transplant experience, Willingness to float between units, Experience working with ventilators, multiple monitors, and EKG interpretation, Willingness to administer the flu shot when requested.
