Job Overview

Congruex is seeking a skilled Fiber Splicer and/or Tester to join our team in the Fort Wayne, IN area. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for installing and testing fiber optic cables in a variety of environments, including underground and aerial settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret prints and understand fiber optic color codes to install and test fiber cable.
  • Operate fiber fusion splicing machines and various OTDR and power meters.
  • Place and bond splice closures, as well as other closures common to fiber optic cable splicing and termination.
  • Perform testing using OTDRs, Power Meter/Light Sources, and VFLs, and record and document results according to customer specifications.
  • Maintain a professional working attitude and adhere to safety practices and procedures.
Requirements
  • 1+ years of experience as a fiber splicer.
  • Experience working from blueprints, specifications, and system documentation.
  • Thorough working knowledge of widely used construction practices of fiber cable.
  • Current valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to carry a 24-foot ladder and wear fall protection when needed.
  • Work up to 6 days per week in an all-weather environment and be willing to travel as required.
