Job Title: Field Technician II

Zayo Group is seeking a highly skilled Field Technician II to join our team. As a Field Technician II, you will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining telecommunications equipment, including SONet, TDM, DWDM, and IP-based systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Install and test telecommunications equipment, including fiber optic cables, routers, and switches.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on existing network infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement new network configurations.
  • Conduct site surveys to identify optimal locations for network installations.
  • Work with contractors and vendors to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for network installations and maintenance activities.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 network availability.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in telecommunications equipment installation and maintenance.
  • Strong technical knowledge of telecommunications systems, including fiber optic cables, routers, and switches.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including OSHA/Company safety rules, MSDS, MOP's, process and procedure documents.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle.
