As a Lead Packaging Systems Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to spearhead projects aimed at enhancing existing packaging systems and seamlessly integrating new ones for our clients. You will engage in all stages of project execution, from initial concept to final implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
- Conduct audits and data analysis of current packaging systems.
- Develop innovative solutions tailored to client needs.
- Update and manage documentation effectively.
- Scope, estimate, and schedule new packaging system projects.
- Oversee design development and installation processes.
- Lead on-site commissioning and performance testing.
- Prepare and present proposals to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers.
Regular travel to various locations will be required, averaging around 30% annually.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in the design and integration of food and beverage systems.
- Experience in capital project execution.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:
- Over 15 years of experience in packaging systems design, including knowledge of various conveyor types and ancillary equipment.
- 5+ years of experience in the beverage industry, particularly with high-speed container handling.
- Experience in a consulting environment.
- Familiarity with balanced line flow for packaging systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration or the ability to obtain it.
