The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Lead to oversee a team of specialized navigators at the Anaheim Emergency Shelter (AES).
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and develop specialized navigators, including Recovery Navigators, Peer Intake Navigators, Employment Navigators, and Resource & Activities Navigators.
- Provide individual supervision, guidance, and coaching to navigators to ensure they maintain current caseloads and engage residents effectively.
- Facilitate bi-weekly navigator meetings and conduct regular 1-on-1 reviews to discuss outcomes, cases, SMART goals, and development needs.
- Assist in navigation staff candidate selection and interviews, and support facilitation and/or coordination of new hire orientation and training.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting and effectiveness of models, including Recovery, Peer Intake Navigator, Employment, and Resource & Activities.
- Maintain data on groups facilitated by navigators and create weekly staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
- Approve staff timesheets and time-off requests in a timely manner and work collaboratively with the Program Supervisor to gather or maintain programming services data.
- Assist with ordering and tracking bus passes, vouchers, and other resources purchased for residents as directed by the Program Supervisor.
- Review resident case notes to ensure specialized navigators are accurately maintaining resident files, case notes, physical files, and documentation.
- Participate in AES 'all' site staff meetings and ensure navigators attend and actively participate.
- Participate in Operations and community meetings as needed or directed.
- Minimum GED or High School Diploma required; prior work experience in a shelter, group home, or recovery facility preferred.
- 2 years Case Manager experience within a mid to large team within homeless population and/or BSW or degree in related field with minimum 1 year of supervisory experience (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of HMIS (preferred).
- Must be in good physical health and mental health, capable of meeting the demand of the position.
- Bilingual/Bi-literate English/Spanish preferred.
The Program Lead will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. The incumbent must be able to work outdoors, be around animals, and feel comfortable walking outdoors on potentially uneven surfaces.
