Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning duties in assigned areas, including apartment homes, common areas, lounges, and offices.
  • Sweep, dust, and mop all floors and stairways; spot clean and vacuum floors, rugs, carpets, and runners.
  • Clean and sanitize lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures and facilities; stock dispensers as needed.
  • Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, and equipment; polish glass surfaces, woodwork, walls, and windowsills.
  • Scrubs bath and shower room tiles, woodwork, window frames, and sills.
  • Maintain equipment and materials needed to perform work in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Collect and dispose of trash and refuse from work areas.
  • Collect, clean, and redistribute community laundry.
  • Maintain the commercial laundry in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition.
  • Ensure cleaning chemicals are stored and locked when not in use.
  • Ensure cords, carts, equipment, and other hazards are kept out of the way and in compliance with fire codes.
  • Report any needed repairs, supply, and equipment needs to the Lead Housekeeper.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population and ability to interact with guests, residents, and staff in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Ability to respond promptly to resident needs.
  • Supports organization's goals and values.
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and perform tasks with frequent interruptions.
  • Competent in organizational, time management skills.
  • Ability to work semi-independently without direct supervision.
