Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and report results of non-invasive echocardiographic diagnostic procedures with precision and accuracy.
  • Ensure patient safety and well-being by promoting a clean and secure hospital environment, adhering to standard precautions and infection control principles.
  • Read, comprehend, and transcribe imaging orders, collaborating with physicians when necessary to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Conduct thorough patient interviews to understand risk factors and medical history, informing a more comprehensive examination when required.
  • Select appropriate scanning protocols and imaging parameters, leveraging extensive knowledge of human anatomy, pathology, and imaging capabilities.
  • Measure, evaluate, and record gradients using Doppler ultrasound systems, contributing to accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Review and chart patient records into electronic medical records (EMR) systems, ensuring seamless communication and care coordination.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Registered as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS, RDCS) through CCI or ARDMS.
  • Education or graduation from an accredited cardiovascular sonography program.
  • BLS certification and experience using electronic medical records (EMR) tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT, RVS) certification.
  • Degree in an Allied Health field.
  • Experience with EPIC and CV-Synapse EMR tools.
