About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at Amazon Data Services, Inc. as a Fleet Remediation Project Design Electrical Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for leading design projects in operational data centers, remedying issues, upgrading existing infrastructure, and adding new services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions that add data center infrastructure, capacity, improve availability, and/or increase sustainability.
  • Prepare and review short circuit coordination studies and maintain software models to match as-built site conditions.
  • Perform design and equipment submittal review for Data Centers in your region.
  • Interface with internal and external data center design engineering teams, server hardware teams, environmental health and safety teams, field engineering, and controls engineering to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered.
  • Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.
  • Act as a technical subject matter expert for your given discipline during new remediation projects.
  • Support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ cumulative years of design experience with industrial or commercial engineering in Mission Critical facilities, including but not limited to: data centers, power generation, oil/gas facilities.
  • Direct experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities (data centers) as resident design engineer or hands-on (in the field) design consultant.
  • Registered Professional Engineer or advanced degree in engineering, business, or related field.
  • Ability to carry design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment/mass production.
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region.
