Position Overview:
The Division of Solid Organ Transplant at the University of Rochester is seeking a dedicated professional to fill a full-time role at the Instructor level within our medical education and training program, specifically focusing on transplant surgery. This position is part of a two-year accredited fellowship recognized by the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS).
Program Objectives:
The primary aim of our transplant surgery fellowship is to cultivate expertise in both the surgical and medical management of patients facing end-stage organ diseases that are suitable for transplantation. This will be accomplished through a comprehensive 24-month structured program designed for in-depth study and treatment of these conditions.
Collaborative Environment:
Transplantation is inherently a multidisciplinary endeavor. The selected Fellow will have the privilege of collaborating with and learning from a diverse team of professionals, including surgeons, nephrologists, hepatologists, infectious disease specialists, pharmacists, dietitians, social workers, advanced practice providers, and registered nurses.
Research Opportunities:
In addition to clinical responsibilities, the successful candidate will be encouraged to engage in the division's research initiatives, contributing to advancements in the field.
Career Advancement:
Upon completion of the two-year fellowship, graduates will be well-prepared to pursue competitive attending-level positions at transplant programs, either in the United States or internationally.
