Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist

UPMC Home Health is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team on a casual-as-needed basis. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide in-home services to patients of all ages, evaluating and treating speech, language, voice, swallowing, cognitive disorders, and dysfunctions to maximize functional ability and improve quality of life.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and treat patients within the scope of speech, cognitive, and swallow training.
  • Document patient care using point-of-care documentation.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide effective, quality care, promoting safety and helping patients progress towards goal achievement.
  • Attend compliance training and adhere to organizational standards of conduct, policies, and procedures.
  • Identify, develop, and participate in process improvement opportunities within the home health agency.
  • Perform duties and job responsibilities in a fashion that coincides with the service management philosophy of UPMC Home Healthcare towards patients, visitors, staff, peers, physicians, and other departments within the organization.
  • Continually develop professional skills by assuming responsibility for ongoing continuing education.
  • Maintain and complete all documentation promptly and accurately, including visit assessment, OASIS, 485, and verbal orders.
  • Provide complete and accurate speech, language, voice, swallowing evaluation, therapy, instruction, and counseling for infants through geriatrics.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology required.
  • One (1) year clinical experience in Speech Pathology to practice without supervision or less than one (1) year if practicing under supervision.
  • Licensure/Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology, Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Driver's License, and Speech Pathologist.
